How do we work?

The Centro Cultural Melodía fulfills the essential function of liaison between the diverse organizations, public and private institutions, and persons that provide opportunities for educational and cultural development, and potential beneficiaries in the community of Villa Hayes and in the Department.


The Centro Cultural Melodía fulfills the essential function of liaison between the diverse organizations, public and private institutions, and persons that provide opportunities for educational and cultural development, and potential beneficiaries in the community of Villa Hayes and in the Department.

The Center provides a framework for its support activities to the different educational institutions in agreement with the Strategic Plan for Educational and Cultural Development of the Department of Presidente Hayes, participating in a way that is positive and significant in the educational, cultural and technological development of the children, youth and adults of the department.

The Center works closely with the different secretariats that make up the Departmental Government of Presidente Hayes and the Municipalities of Villa Hayes and Nanawa.

It also works in coordination with the National Police and with the Villa Hayes affiliate of the Student Center of the Administrative Sciences Faculty of the National University of Asunción.

The Center, in its character of Civil Society Organization, is currently Member of the Departmental Board of the Childhood and Adolescence Secretariat as well as of the Interinstitutional Commission on Civic Security of the city of Villa Hayes . It is also Secretary of the National Coordination Committee of Coordinators for the Sounds of the Land Project.

The Centro Cultural Melodía develops an abundant calendar of activities. Cultural evening activities are held so that the community may appreciate plays, demonstrations, painting exhibits, book launchings, training workshops and seminars, and music and dance presentations.

The Center has a library, and access to virtual libraries that are made available to students, with free Internet access, in order to carry out research activities.

School support classes, and other joint and complementary activities with teachers from the community's different educational institutions, are offered in collaboration with local and Peace Corps volunteers.

Monday to Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on
Sundays and Holidays from 2:00 p

m. to 7:00 p.m., from February to December
